Anthurium
With the introduction of Anthurium ‘Lady Jane’tm in 1984, Oglesby started the Anthurium pot plant market that has grown into a large segment of the tropical plant business. Until the introduction of ‘Lady Jane’, Anthurium was a large structured plant grown primarily for cut flowers. The unique combination of breeding a small Anthurium species with the large cut flower type gave us a compact plant with numerous small colorful flowers. Unknown to us at the time, this breeding combination also leads to Anthuriums tolerant of a devastating disease in tropical areas, Xanthomonas campestris. Over the years since, our breeding has focused on disease tolerant varieties with dark green foliage topped by beautiful flowers that can successfully be grown in tropical areas around the world.
We proudly offer Anthurium varieties suitable for 4” to 10” pots. Some of our newest Anthurium introductions, ‘Red Rocket’, ‘White Heart’ and ‘Zing’ now combine larger flowers sizes with excellent disease tolerance. Call today and let us help you with your Anthurium needs.
